CNN didn't even mention it in the report. Talked about previous suits he filed settled out of court, how he accused the victim of "racist remarks" but didn't mention the filings he made. Typical.

I've only just now gotten home and settled in to watch TV coverage. I've been watching CNN. The guy is black, he's apparently gay and he apparently saw himself as a victim of racism and maybe homophobia.
That's a lot of stuff for the media to work with to make him a victim.
To their credit, so far I have seen no evidence of that.
To be honest, I feel like the fact that he killed journalists is going to play into the coverage. The media is gonna take that personally and not play this like they would in other circumstances.

Media is saying Alison's mom found out about the shooting via a text from the news station. Wasn't until an hour later senior management finally called to tell her her daughter had passed

Black or white wasn't the issue with the comment you made, it was just an example. And the fact that you acted like you weren't a minority made me assume you were white. Text to mom immediately to say something happened. Drive to scene which was a good ways out of Roanoke. Coroner still has to confirm death. Going to take an hour at least.
