#1 wait... you don't have separate 'commodes' in your master bedroom?
#2 how did you not notice that someone crack open a window? the air pressure inside the car would immediately change... you could almost feel your eardrum pop

I'll never understand the toilet seat conundrum with women. I ALWAYS look before I sit. It's just common sense.
When my mother told me when I was younger the reason to put the toilet seat down was apparently so they wouldn't fall in I was stupefied. It is to this day maybe the most ridiculously stupid thing I have ever heard. I can understand returning something to the state it was before you used it, but that stuff is ridiculous.

First one was your fault because you tried to leave it down. In my house we have the put the seat the way you want it rule so she knows she has to look. IMO you trained her not to look and then dunked her in toilet water.

Good point. I hadn't thought of it that way.

Your first wife sounds like a dumb bitch.

1. Her fault
2. Your fault.
Neither should have been dwelled upon more than a few minutes.

1 - Her fault for not looking.
2 - Your fault even though it was an accident. You could have at least said you were sorry.

Incident one: I hear a loud swear at me in the middle of the night from the master bathroom. Seems my wife had fallen into the commode because the seat wasn't down. Of course, I always lift the seat before peeing and almost always put it down when I'm done... just so happens that on this night I went to take a leak earlier from the middle of a sleep and failed to do it. Who was more at fault? The man who is not perfect or the woman who failed to look out for her own safety before sitting? She never forgave me for her accident, though I never admitted fault.
Your fault, but not why you think. The proper approach to this is to always lift the seat to piss and when you're done put both the seat and the lid down.
If you have to lift something to piss then so does she.

Incident two: We get in the car for a short trip... it's a pretty sunny day... I'm driving along for a short while when I hear a whistling of wind coming from one of the windows, so I pull up all four windows on the driver's door control panel. Then I hear the most terrifying scream you could ever imagine... so bad that I immediately slammed on the brakes, from instinct, and risked getting rear ended. Well, as it turns out my wife's fingers were stuck in the window... she had been riding along with her fingers sticking through a very narrow opening at the top of her window. It didn't even immediately connect with me that her fingers were being smashed... I asked why the frick are you screaming like that? Then I saw her situation. She never forgave me for that one, either, though I never admitted fault.
Her fault. Why was she riding with her fingers in the crack? Was she trying to get a better grip to lick the window?

Interesting that there's disagreement here on both incidents.
I still think both were entirely HER fault.

So you were arguing in the car about whose responsibility it is to lift up the toilet seat and you rolled the window up on her fingers?
That's obviously your fault.

You not admitting fault isn't a surprise. But did you ask her to forgive you or apologize? That's not being a beta, it's just good manners and expressing empathy. Wouldn't you apologize for accidentally stepping on someone's foot?

If you found the seat in the down position, it is the reasonable responsibility of the user to return the seat to the down position at the completion of the restroom activity.
Why is this logic never applied to the remote?
Or anything else in the house? Phone? Tablet?
See the logic?
The woman decides she owns the toilet and the man only uses it temporarily. And he has to follow her rules.
Does the man have to return the car seat and mirrors to the woman's position every time he gets out of the car?
