I guess I had a different upbringing. My summer days were spent playing “cops and robbers” with cap guns with my cousins. We must have went through thousands of caps a day. I pointed my cap gun at them just like they did to me with theirs. None of us have shot anybody. I actually attribute my handling and shooting skills today to that upbringing. Now I also had a father who made it very clear that real guns were not a toy. I was well versed in gun safety and knew not to touch my dads pistol that he kept in the top drawer of his nightstand. “That’s for protection. I don’t have time to fight the safe and the burglar” he’d say. All that to say, I fully believe that guns, toys or real, are in no way the issue. Parents who don’t take the time to teach kids firearm safety and responsibility are the problem. Probably because they don’t know themselves.

Well that just brought more context to the story that I didn't even know.

It feels very morbid and fricked up to think that well, atleast these kids won't grow up to lead a life of crime

In any case, those kids never had a chance in life. It's depressing

Terribly depressing. Kids are still kids and somewhere a parent is hurting.

Oh, we had BB gun wars and played cowboys and Indians and war and all that.

But we weren’t pointing loaded guns at each other for some Instagram clout.

Social media is poison

This needs to be shouted from every roof top, at every instance possible. And not just for guns.

You could have stopped right here, as it applies to this culture.

She said the kids were making a video on Instagram Live in which Paris was playing with the gun, “but it went off and hit” Kuaron.

Sad for those kids,

BUT....................

This ain't no accident. It's negligence on the part of the owner of the firearm and they should be held accountable for the negligent death of two children.

BUT........................

They wont be. Everyone will pretend it's a tragic accident and say the parents are suffering enough because of the loss of their kids and nothing will ever change.

Irresponsible gun owners will continue to provide bulletin board material for the anti gun nuts to chip away at the rights of responsible firearm owners to exercise their 2nd amendment rights to own and use firearms.

Not cool. That was a 12-year-old child, not an adult. She was failed by the adults around her who didn’t raise her properly.

Who were failed by the adults around her who didn’t raise them properly…probably started some time back in the…say…60s perhaps? I wonder what went wrong…

See, when you start teaching kids firearm safety, much like blender safety and stove safety and tool safety, at an early age this sh!t doesn't happen.

You should probably label your chart. I recognize it, though. That's percentage of births out of wedlock. Single-moms. Yes, 3/4 of black births are to a single mom. Amazing.

THIS! My two brothers and me grew up with guns and hunting. I was with my dad in a duck blind when i was 4 years old. My dad preached gun safety. The gun was always pointed down or up, safety on, and finger away from the trigger.

But when the gun was fake, and for BB guns, we pointed them at each other all the time. In fact, we used to shoot each other with BB guns. I’ve got some great stories and memories about that.

Do you really think these two were going to learn, though?
