wondered what he was referring to, a tuna tower? they can be pretty helpful when spotting fish, especially in a tournament

This video is just like arrest videos that only show the actual fight. There's no real context.
If you work in the service industry, there’s no reputable place you could act like that with a customer and keep your job, especially with children around.

Wife videoing.
I get it can be stressful but out there you need a guy who's cool, calm and collected.
That's a fricked up situation for the guy who got yelled at in front of his wife and kid.
What is he suppose to do? Fight the captain? Call the coast guard?
Maybe he's a great captain but no chance in hell I'd go into deep water with him

stay away from the helm like he was told multiple times? Not engage the engine in full throttle and almost toss the captain into the prop?
If he followed any basic instructions this never happens

Mr. Carlson seems to give the clumsy guy too much blame here. I'd ask Mr. Carlson if using a throttle lock as SOP when out there would be a good idea. It's a boat in the deeper seas, the chances for a throttle bump seems pretty high.

I would have stayed calm while on the boat for my kids safety
Once on land, I would do everything in my power to ruin him

Redneck said,"tell me you have never been offshore without telling me you have never been offshore."
I have fished the Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo once and have fished blue water many times. However, I was the green horn compared to everybody else on boat who was from from Houma and they knew more about it than me. Spent much of my life fly fishing, surf casting, and spear fishing off the Louisiana gulf and off Pensacola. Gotta admit trolling around with loud diesel engines is not my favorite thing but did catch a massive blue marlin once.
So during the Tarpon rodeo the dock line which had a big mooring hook was hooked up on one of the rigs out in the blue water. The rig hook slipped down to about 40 feet. All these salty fisherman thought we needed to cut the line to get off the rig. I had brought my mask and fins and I quietly jumped into the water and went down the line and had the hook off and freed us in about 30 seconds. Funny how I earned my stripes with this motley crew by doing something so easy for me but so foreign to them. They said they never could go much below 15 feet and they certainly were scared of going down where toothy monsters might be hanging out. :-)

Dude, he was on a boat with two obviously upset kids. You really think escalating to a physical fight is a smart outcome? I sure hope you don’t have kids.

Man, if that dude talked to me like that in private, much less in front my family, we would’ve threw down.
I get being upset but you can talk about it like a reasonable adult.

Hey Redneck, I do like your avatar. I have spearfished Costa Rica on Pacific side where underwater mountain comes up near 15-20 feet of surface. This brought the pelagic fish close. I hope to go flyfishing for Sail fish in Costa Rica in the future. Glad you can live in such a great place.:-)
Since you posted LSU would not leave the regional, I am glad to tell you I did make it to Omaha and we did win the CWS. :-)

That guy is not charter captain material. He may be a great fisherman with a nice boat, but that doesn't qualify you to be a good charter captain. frick him, I hope he loses his business. What a fricking shite head.
He can just rename his charter fishing company, “Angry Charters,” “Captain Mad Charters,” or “Dick’s Charters” like the restaurant.
