You suck at it.
Obviously communism is when things happen that I don't like, and is also when I don't want to finish my own argument about early modern Europe political economy, and instead blame a specific economic philosophy that didn't exist for another 400 years. Nicely done.

a real black eye on the whole Civil War reenactment community

Colonial era Europe had zero qualms about enslaving what they viewed as lesser races all over the world. Is that where we’re trying to get to in this thread?

Do you just type shite and hope someone doesn't notice? Logic is a specific discipline used to determine whether conclusions follow from premises.
Nothing you've said has qualified as 'objective observance' either.
Deductive reasoning begs to differ. An argument is considered deductively valid if its conclusion follows logically from its premises.
Premise one: There were black slave owners in the Confederacy
Premise two: The Civil War was fought primarily over the ideology of a State's Right to decide if it will allow slavery or not
Premise three: The soldiers of the Confederacy were primarily residents of the Confederate states
All three premises are true thus the deductive reasoning that there were black Confederate soldiers is indeed a logical conclusion.
Maybe read more Aristotle?

Then why was it legal?
Lol you don't know anything about European history, do you? France abolished slavery in the 13th century. Actual slavery disappeared in Britain after the Norman invasion, though there were several different forms of servitude. Maybe you can tie together why it was legal in colonial possessions. I believe in you!

An incoherent non sequitur, I have no idea WTF you are trying to say.

Logically tell me how there weren't millions of white slaves if slavery was solely about labor needs and not about racism.
You're attributing someone else's argument to me, ask whoever made that argument instead.

But its one we can verify, or in deductive reasoning terms, test the soundness of, you moron. It isn't a logical conclusion either, as the term 'residents' is doing a lot of work for you. When the soundness of a premise is questioned, what do we do?

what did the Europeans themselves say about this?

You think that I don't recognize that racism was factor.
Once again, you suck at mind reading.

I love that y’all are spending this beautiful Saturday arguing the merits of slavery.
Yes I’m also posting, valid point. But only while I wait for my tee time.

Don’t know about you but I use my hands when doing front squats.

I'm on the leg press machine right now. Doing squats next.

No one is arguing that.
The problem is in your ridiculous inductive reasoning that a handful of black Confederate soliders proves slavery was economic, not racist.

Legal often has a direct tie to a culture's contemporaneous moral view.
It's not impossible but it's unusual for a culture to make something legal that it also finds immoral.
Abortion might be a modern example.

Skip the squats today. This thread can’t afford to lose all of your intelligent insights. Don’t be selfish.

Blacks were first placed into slavery by other black tribes then sold. Slave masters in America were represented by Blacks, Whites and Native Americans. With multiple races owning slaves, including blacks owning blacks, this points more to an economical necessity than it pointing to racism. Are you implying that the black slave owners were racist against their own race?
