your title made it seem like it's a proven fact when it's just an allegation

The kid sees nude images of himself on Twitter and asks them to remove them.

Here is Twitter's response to his request to remove the images.

quote:

“Thanks for reaching out. We’ve reviewed the content, and didn’t find a violation of our policies, so no action will be taken at this time.
If you believe there’s a potential copyright infringement, please start a new report. If the content is hosted on a third-party website, you’ll need to contact that website’s support team to report it. Your safety is the most important thing, and if you believe you are in danger, we encourage you to contact your local authorities.”

Here is his response back to them.

quote:

“What do you mean you don’t see a problem? We both are minors right now and were minors at the time these videos were taken. We both were 13 years of age. We were baited, harassed, and threatened to take these videos that are now being posted without our permission. We did not authorize these videos AT ALL and they need to be taken down.”

Then....

quote:

Two days later, Doe’s mom was connected with an agent from the Department of Homeland Security through a mutual contact who successfully had the videos removed on Jan. 30, the suit states.

“Only after this take-down demand from a federal agent did Twitter suspend the user accounts that were distributing the CSAM and report the CSAM to the National Center on Missing and Exploited Children,” states the suit, filed by the National Center on Sexual Exploitation and two law firms.

All of this should had been very easy to verify by the NY Post. What more do you want? Do you think this is a big lie by the kid? And that the Post didn't vet any of these allegations and just ran with the story? What is another possibility that would clear Twitter in this in your opinion?

OP leaves a lot to be desired in regards to context, but if it

quote:

doesn’t “violate policies”

maybe change the policies

Yes, I read the same article you did.

I'm aware of what the lawsuit alleges. If what they say is true, then Twitter should face harsh consequences.

That doesn't change the fact that the OP's title is misleading and inaccurate when considering the context.

Everyone should delete Twitter. I did and I’m much better off.

Just so I can have a glimpse of what the insanity is like in your world, tell me the context in which the OP is incorrect.

I asked him that already. He didn't answer, other than to say the title is misleading because it's merely a lawsuit and not yet proven in a court of law.

Twitter's response to teenager:

Thread title:

quote:

Twitter refuses to remove child pornography, doesn’t “violate policies”

Twitter's response states that they will not remove pictures because it doesn't violate their policies. That is a fact by their own admission. So the only thing in the title that could possibly be your hang up are the words "child pornography". So are you saying that maybe it wasn't pictures of the kid naked? That the teen and his mom are lying about the content? But the feds forced Twitter to remove anyway?

Doe and the traffickers allegedly exchanged nude photos before the conversation turned to blackmail: If the teen didn’t share more sexually graphic photos and videos, the explicit material he’d already sent would be shared with his “parents, coach, pastor” and others, the suit states.

$100 says the “traffickers” was Jack Dorsey himself.

I don't know how else to explain to you that you're quoting things that are being alleged by one side in a lawsuit, not things that have been proven.

The thread title makes no mention of a lawsuit, it simply states the accusations as fact.

That is why it is disingenuous and misleading.

Is this like the naked Brooke Shields pictures? Something that is obviously child porn but not considered that for some reason?

(Brooke shields did a full spread of nude images at like 11 or 12 and Playboy ran them in the late 70's, she then made a movie playing a hooked with nude scenes)

First of all, settle down

Secondly, did you notice all those lines peppered throughout the article that say things like "the suit states" or "the suit alleges" or "the family claims"? They're basically at the end of every sentence and paragraph in the entire story.

Those are in there to protect the author and the paper from libel. Since all of this is based on allegations in a lawsuit, they are covering their arse - they're not saying it happened, they're saying the lawsuit is saying it happened.

OP makes no mention of a lawsuit.

That's my only point here. No defense of Twitter, certainly not a defense of underaged pornography.

Just try and focus on what I'm saying instead of wailing about things that aren't there.

Twitter is probably the most damaging platform we have.

Im amazed how many people support Hollywood and Twitter, yet cry about moral breakdown in the country. Until men are strong enough to resist, things get worse.
