A lot of people like to play the "start your own website to compete with Google, twitter, youtube, etc" if you don't like the tech giants censoring information.

This is why you can't do something like that and it have any actual traction, progress.. Bitchute is a video-sharing platform that can't be censored that people use to post things that Youtube bans and censors, and now it's being blackballed by the Big Tech Monopoly.

Seems like this could be grossly abused.

I get it, don't use the platform, use other much smaller alternatives that barely anyone knows about. You can help them grow, sure.

This was more about the censorship aspect. If ATT and Verizon own the platform of cell towers and infrastructure, should they be allowed to censor what you say via text message or voice call?

Or should you just start a cell phone company to compete as the solution?

Yes. How dare a company not allow people to use their product to advertise their competition.

These big tech companies need to face consequences/be outed for only allowing a single view point, but I fully understand this from a business perspective.

Like literally anything else in the entire world.

You police the content, not the means of delivery. They fact check and ban stuff all the time for violating guidelines.

Phone service is a utility.

Tweeting not so much.

not a good example since most of that infrastructure is subsidized by tax dollars

Stuff can get reported, but only actual illegal stuff will be removed, not what content they think should be or not be allowed because of some agenda or pressure.

Fair enough but the point still remains, take that out of the equation, then how do you feel?

Let Twitter be sued for any content they allow to remain since they are editing content they don’t like.

Yes, it can, according to actual laws.
