They are using the word “private” in a different sense. Private can mean not publicly traded. Private can also mean “not part of the government”. It is in the later sense that they have no obligation to grant anyone the right of free speech, as the government does. A government function would not be allowed (in general) to censor your speech. A non-government entity can. Twitter is private in meaning of not being a government entity.

The platform is the product. They offer the product to the public for use. How the product is used has zero impact on the fact that the platform is itself a "product" produced by Twitter.
How a product is used does not change its designation.

Ohhhh well I-I-I guess I didnt know that, so all changes. Smfh.
Publicly traded companies are more regulated than a regular town baker is, so why the fed govt can/will intervene if they dont start self-regulating their own clear bias. Just like they did with musks tweets on tesla. If a local govt can go after a small business, and it go up to the supreme court. I'll be damned if a company like twitter cant have govt intervention. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander, eh??

They offer a service, the servers necessary, and a product, the actual platform.
The entire website is designed by Twitter. The format is designed by Twitter. They generate updates to the app and website frequently.
It isn't just a service. The platform is a product which is used.

Nah, they are. It helps when you start thinking about how conservatives are really all about maintaining the social hierarchy vs liberals who want to change/eliminate the hierarchy.
