a few weeks ago I noticed an actor named Audie Murphy starring in a bunch of them
is this a newly discovered love? because Audie is probably the third most known western actor behind The Duke and Eastwood. He was a massive star because of his war record, likability and singing voice.

I just cannot take him seriously as an actor.

Nah, I just made that up. But for real Audie's great nephews were Charlie and Eddie.

My Dad and Audie Murphy grew up in the same area and went to the same school until Audie left in the 8th grade. They were both born in 1924 so they may have even been in the same class.
Dad said that many of the parents looked down on Audie Murphy, viewing his family as "white trash." He also noted how that changed remarkably when Murphy became a war hero.

Must have been related by marriage.

This thread is only acceptable if you are younger than 32 years old
Any older and I have a serious grievance against your parents

almost certainly, back then, because of the poverty, need for kids to help out on the farm, small communities, etc., classes were often combined age groups, and very small

Most of those movies didn't require great acting, from him or anyone else. He did show a bit of comic talent in Destry Rides Again.

Little known fact: Audie was heir to the Murphy’s Oil Soap Fortune. When Dale became Mormon, Audie wrote him out of his will.

You see John Wayne, Glenn Ford, Van Cleef, Eastwood, Randolph Scott, etc. all the time. Then I began watching more Grit Tv and saw a shory lil actor named Murphy coming on a lot. Just thought google his background see what pops up. I was pleasantly shocked and surprised.

which later came to be known as Murphy's Law

Audie was killed in that plane crash in 1971.
The crash site has a memorial on it and it’s located along the Appalachian Trail. People who video their hikes usually capture the memorial on their videos as a point of interest.
