Where were ya at the time?

My family relocated up there from Natchitoches, LA in Feb 1992. Lived in Laurel/Billings from 1992 to 2001, then again from ‘09-‘17. With about a year stints in Missoula in 2001-2002, Bozeman in ‘02-‘03, and Red Lodge in 2006.

One of these days when the world is right again, I'm going to take a summer road trip through North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho just to see what's up there, to play golf until 9pm or later, and to escape the heat and humidity of Louisiana

That would be an awesome trip. Even though we saw as much as we could, I wished we would have had more time when I was up there.

Montana

The only state that can compete with Montana’s beauty is Alaska. Place is amazing.

My boomer dad is chilling in Montana right now. About 15 miles north of Bozeman. It's absolutely stunningly beautiful there.

My only revision would be to do S Dakota instead of North, if you have limited time. I've made both drives numerous times and S Dakota has much prettier stuff. Custer State Park is one of the best state parks in the country.

We live near Seattle and daughter took a job in Missoula in January. Absolutely one of the most beautiful states in the country. We have a two-week trip planned to MT Rockies in mid-June. Have three cabins lined up between Yellowstone and Glacier. Fingers crossed that we can make the trip.
