Not blaming the victim at all. But I don’t feel as this article gives us anywhere near a clear picture. We need the details.

No, it doesn't.
It is in poor taste, and lacks sympathy, but a rapist isn't going to say "a poster on a message board "blamed the victim" so I'm all good."
It is an unfortunate and (for the victim) tragic cautionary tale.
