the last thing the Bahamas (esp. northern Bahamas) needs right now is another tropical system

If you can choose youd rather another hurricane hit an already devastated area than an intact area

We will know more about this storm in 7-9 days however at this point we cannot rule out a Katrina part 2 scenario

The steering ins't exactly sorted out yet. Once we get an actual system and Dorian fades off into memory, it'll be about time to see how the models are setting up the big picture.

Until then, not going to worry about it.

Note the big trough dropping down sometime 9/15-20. The timing of that may be key

I believe that when we aren't still in fantasy land. If it does dig in like that, yeah the timing will be important.

Plus, wouldn't mind some cooler weather.

According to this board every tropical system that forms in the western hemisphere is the next Katrina.
