It's easy to forget the Gulf Stream runs up near there and you have warm water clashing with the cold being pushed in aloft. It's also helping set the edge on the subtropical ridge too.

NWS Mount Holly, NJ office has a severe thunderstorm warning up that runs 112 miles. Wind is the biggest concern, and they aren't letting it sneak up on them with the warning being an hour and a half long.

I quote NHC so you are telling me that their discussion was nonsensical? That's exactly what you are doing.

I would go with GFS as well. I was only stating that there is debate on the issue.

The vast majority of Chicken Littles never look at the discussion aspect.

I am stating what NHC actually stated. Sorry that they didn't teach you how to read at Bama.

18z GFS comes in with a FL landfall a bit farther South and still at 980mb. The Cuban landfall is also a bit more East this run. It is still shooting the gap between Haiti/DR and Jamaica with minimal weakening due to land interaction, which I'm just not buying, though it has been consistent. This run takes it up the Peninsula and up the East coast toward the Carolinas keeping it almost entirely on land. Pressure throughout is more or less the same as previous runs.

All told, it is still running consistent to what it has for a while now. Let's see if the shift East over Cuba and more South over FL is it feeling the steering that the Euro has been big on.

Hope so. Even if it rains, still better than being in the office.

Lots of rising air over Africa this year, and it only gets worse in that regard. There are signs that Africa will be a tropical wave producing factory this year. I said a week or so ago that wave after wave was already lining up, let's hope that trend doesn't hold into August and September.

Like the last two weeks for example?

Yeah the trend on that isn't looking great. We need the MDR to get nice and hot by August and keep the TUTT suffering way north.
