I am trying to sell my home and the home has carpet EVERYWHERE including the master bath.

I was curious what you guys though. Should I

a. Just replace the carpet to freshen it up a bit (cheap option)
b. Replace the bathroom and living room carpet with laminate wood flooring
c. Say screw it and offer a flooring allowance in the sales price?

Thanks for any input guys and gals!

This has worked for me in the past. It allows the new owners to get what they want.

The only downside is losing people that may not want that headache and just want to move in.

get some allure from home depot. easiest/best way to improve the looks of your house.

eta its also what the guy from 'bathroom crashers' uses when he does those insane bath redoes.

I wouldn't do anything tbh. They say you'll never get your money back.

Don't even offer flooring allowance, let them ask.

Laminate wood in a bathroom seems like a terrible idea. I wouldn't want that.

It's a starter home in Katy Texas. No more explanation should be needed.

Depends on how competitive the market is in your area.

B and probably use tile if in a buyers' market

C and only negotiate to the allowance if in a sellers' market

Rip out the bathroom carpet and install tile. Go to Home Depot and Lowe's and look for the discontinued stuff. They always have stacks of tile for cheap... should be enough boxes to do something as small as a bathroom. Then pay someone to install.

People don't want to buy a house and then have to deal with shite like having floors redone... and most "normal" people sure as frick don't want carpet in a bathroom.

I would go with b, but I might do some sort of tile rather than wood in the bathroom.

Armstrong laminate tiles

This stuff is awesome, though some snobs would never put laminate anything in their home.

I have laminate wood in my starter home and love the stuff

My kids have done everything they can to it and they can't dent it, scratch it or scuff it

Nope. South. Home was built in 2005 so it went through that shitty builder cycle when they were just building houses quick as they could to keep up with demand. Carpet was faster to install throughout the house so that's what they put. I am the second owner and it was our first home. IE we did not know any better.
