I pass by Weaver's shop every day, and it definitely seems like he's still in business.
Went to him a couple times years back, and I agree, he was great.

which brake pads did they check? fronts, backs, emergency brake drum shoes that can only be seen or checked by removing the rear wheel brake rotors?
it doesnt sound like they knew what they were doing or what to even check.
on the rears the inside rear pads will be completely gone down to bare metal backing plate even though the outers still look good. they have to take the calipers off to check them and when doing that its a no brainer to just replace them while you are at it.

Chabill’s looks for filters to change and flushes to do on fluids, they don’t have real mechanics, plus their tires are super over priced.

but waiting 4 hrs to get your vehicle serviced is outrageous.
Sounds like Saturday at Gerry Lane Chevrolet when you go in for a “free” oil change

Labit on lower bayou blue about a mile before the pontoon bridge. Very good mechanic and fair priced. If you need anything diesel related go see addiction diesel down grand Caillou road.

I think if they are doing that, they are trying to get you in the door and use the 4 hours trying to sell you a new car.
It is the same at Walmart, they get you in the door and there is always a line of 3-5 people ahead of you and only one service tech.

Labit’s Automotive in Bayou Blue, you will absolutely not find a more trustworthy mechanic
