J6 wasn't an "insurrection", but Trump was a complete idiot to ever support it in any way. He should have told them weeks earlier not to show up.
There was no benefit and lots of risk. Just terrible risk-reward analysis.

Perhaps, but the idea that he's dogwhistling every time he opens his mouth is absurd. He had a legitimate gripe and no AG ever considered looking into any election anomalies

Nobody was trying to overthrow the government. I'm fine with vandelism charges for the people that broke the windows, and maybe also for the actions of some of the people inside.
We've seen the tapes now though, and it's was one of the most overblown incidents in recent history.

It was really popular during the height of the WOT.
It was supported by the pro War in Iraq crowd, even when they pretended to like small government in 2010 during the "Tea Party". I used to get into it with these people (who are all MAGA now, in their 3rd major political iteration since I've been posting). Now they're melting about it.
