Maybe "head examined" is a bit over the top. That being said there are many things that we do in the United States better than all of the world combined. Building automobiles is not one of them. And unfortunately after Toyota created the Tundra we don't even make the best truck anymore. I'm a pro America guy but until we steal all of the designers from Japan and Europe I'll stick with the foreign blends.

My wife owns an LR4. Never a problem, especially with the urban jungle potholes of New Orleans trying to tear up that suspension. Rover reliability issues have been solved for the most part.

Look at the interior. You can just tell the difference in build quality.

I've ridden in one. I personally am not spending that type of money on that particular vehicle at this point. I'm pretty sure in 2007, people would have said the same thing. "Look at the new model, it's so much nicer and updated than the 2006". There aren't enough 2015 models out there with 20k miles on them to start talking about how much better they are built. So you can talk all you want, but you don't have the experience with them either.

I honestly had to get extensions to pay bills, had to borrow money, and it's the reason I quit a job I loved and am now in school for the money. I owned it for 4 years, and it was in the shop just shy of 3. Very glad I had a an extra car to use.

It's not every day a 25 year old has an extra $30k sitting in the bank to pay to continually fix a truck. Yeah, I could've just got the money straight up from my parents, but instead, I spent everything I had and more, and still had to borrow money in the end

This is so wrong, I can only assume it's a troll post, or just straight up uneducated about the automobile business.

First, Japan is great at building vehicles, but in actual design, they are notorious copiers. As far back as the Mazda RX-7 mimicking Porsche's 944 and as recently as Lexus straight up lifting BMW's shape ( Thanks Chris Bangle ), everyone in the automotive press knows this is true. Acura does those ugly cars all by themselves, I'll give them that. Many Japanese firms now have/had American design studios for this reason

Secondly, it wasn't that long ago that Asian cars were crap. I guess nobody remembers the disaster that was late 70's Honda Accords. (Check the gas and fill it up with oil)

Japan's quality improved, especially Toyota b/c of an American, W. Edwards Deming. Google it.

In closing, Japan's embracing of quality made everybody (American and European, but the British even screwed up a Honda, see Sterling) up their game, and they needed to.

That said, everybody's cars are way better. Now it's just a matter of how many defects you are willing to tolerate (pay for) from a supplier.

American manufacturers, at a given price point, are equal to anything built in Asia.

I saw a new GMC the other night and it was enormous. It looked real good too. I didn't know they got that expensive. The one I saw looked much better than the one in the OP, though. The one in the OP looks like it was priced wrong.....which has probably already been mentioned in this thread.

What kind of problems?

My dome lights (all 3 sets) would randomly flash like a camera flash. It sucked when driving at night. I had to cover them with electrical tape until the part came in to fix them (2 weeks). Also, the driver seat would move when I made turns. I brought it in at the same time as my light issue and they told me they were having lots of problems with the seats. They put some spacers which tightened it up. Just little shite like that.
