1. A non-tropical low pressure area could form over the northern Gulf
of Mexico by late Wednesday or Thursday. Thereafter, conditions
could become marginally conducive for some subtropical or tropical
development as it moves slowly northeastward through the end of the
week.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.

This is potentially a low pressure system from the trough I was speaking of in the other threat that will stall over the northern gulf of Mexico, which is pulling tropical Depression 3 out to sea.

Why start this?? The cold front is literally here to push it away from the gulf coast....

Looks like it'll get pushed out to the NE if it does manage to spin up, which doesn't look super likely at this time.

To be fair, the panhandle of Florida is still the northern Gulf coast.

By the time it mixes with whatever moisture is left from the front, they wouldn't know the difference between the two

It'd probably be more subtropical anyway with the dry cooler air coming in on it's NW.

El Niño conditions are expected to weaken and become neutral by peak hurricane season which will cause lower shear and more potential for Atlantic and Caribbean storms to develop
