you would have thought that after Katrina as well

Different kind of flooding. A Katrina scenario is not in play in this case. With the exception of coastal areas outside of levees seeing a couple of feet, nobody is getting inundated by storm surge and even those areas will only see a couple of feet.

Well, it is the main factor limiting strengthening, so I am going to talk about it.

Ditto. Texas will take this one for the team. I would like to not run my sprinklers every other day for a week.

Im not talking about storm surge buddy, and please dont try and educate me on Katrina.

Rivers, creeks, tributaries, streams, canals and ditches are all mostly already full from all the rain we've had the past few weeks. 10" of rain in some areas, water will rise swiftly.

I don't claim to be an expert, but I have an idea what I am talking about. I have been a weather enthusiast for many years. I have followed countless weather experts and have participated on multiple weather message boards, and have learned a lot of the course of several years. At a point, I was even considering going into meteorology for a career, before choosing another career path.

So, while I am no expert, I at least have the knowledge to know what I am looking at and participate in the discussion. I have been active in posting and discussing models the last few days regarding this storm, and trying to help convey information to everyone else. If you have a problem with it then you can ignore me or leave the thread.
