It looks sheared still. Everything is still pushing the clouds NE. This can lead to pulsing of the convection but also ingesting some dry air would cause the storms to collapse too. This is exactly what we want to see tonight.

It is still getting sheared pretty good tonight and the center is likely convection free again with all the current storms north of 27.

Unfortunately, the heavy rain threat remains.

the Hurricane Hunters currently inside the storm have found Beta's LLC at the exact same spot essentially all mission long (26.8 N, 92.2 W)

now the storms associated with Beta may be getting sheared northward... but the center of circulation is currently stationary

Update from NHC been out for about ten minutes and no posts about it.

It's...

Beautiful

Track gets more inland and max intensity to just 60 mph. Rain still a threat but for the first time in the last month the situation appears to be improving.

WadingFool did y’all ever recover from the last storm? Was it Harvey?

Yes it was Harvey, took us about 2 years to get our place rebuilt. Started on our pier a couple weeks ago so it won't be long and we'll back to where we were. My in laws which had insurance unlike us ended up having to sue insurance companies so their process was longer and they finally collected and the repairs took about 6 months or so and were finished about 3 years to the day after Harvey hit. Not a process we ever want to go through again, we do have insurance now so theres that I guess.

Yeah it's going to.

It's not really moving much now. It'll start going west tomorrow.

Well glad to hear things are normal and that you’re now insured. Sorry I don’t remember but was it home home or vacation home? Y’all weren’t there were y’all when it hit?

It's going to do that. It'll fire off some storms, intensity a little, start sucking in more air and some of it will be dry, and then those storms will collapse. Especially as the shear remains over it.

Duke do you think it will ever get close enough to pecan island for tropical storm force winds?

Plausible. A buoy about 35 miles SE of Pecan Island is getting TS force winds right now.
