Just told Kolton and Eason to unpack the Armada. We are going to practice catch-tag and cut and relay drills all goddamn weekend. I will NOT allow this nonsense to break their focus on what is truly important.

Ballsy. Son’s soccer is done. Was supposed to drive to Mandeville after work, nice to not have to do that. The tournament his club was going to play in Perdido is canceled as well.

My ‘travel ball’ is soccer, and my son has mostly retired from tournaments. Drove a few hundred miles to one last weekend, but it had many nationally ranked teams. My boy usually just travels for regional league games, he’s on two different league teams.

And I stand by my statement. Call it Travel call it tourney, call it Rec, call it select. Fit the most part it is all the same kids playing a sport that they will stop playing sooner rather than later
Enjoy it, let em make friends, have fun. But at the end of the day, except for the occasional blowhard that says “if I hadn’t hurt my knee I would played at LSU”, the kids will all have similar youth sports experiences.
Be proud of whatever you are doing and do it the best you can.
And understand that some kid that never picked up a ball is going to best your arse one day when he figures it out.
