I was hoping they would let the kids play with no parents or coaches watching. Just the kids playing ball with no over zealous parents and coaches yelling stupid shite.

Hey cut us back to four teams to not exceed the 250. At 11u that’s prob right. About 50 per team. But that 8u team that is playing their first game in travel? shite they may have whole extended families there. That excitement will wane as the years pass

They don’t pay the umps anymore because before every team paid the same entry fee. How was that fair for a team who sucked and only played 3 games versus a team who ended up playing 5-7 games?
Now each team pays an umpire at the plate before the game, which is more fair and much better for the umpires since it’s cash. Also, in Louisiana, USSSA increased all the pay for the age groups so now this state is on the same level of pay as other states in the SE

If you enter any tournament (poker for example) and you are eliminated in the first round, do you pay less? Of course not.
Pay at the plate allows umps to not report the income, so they are getting more umps, certainly not better umps.
USSSA sucks.
