This. Women have multiple kids all the time. Shocking I know, but some women even have 2 under 2.

The newborn stage is so easy. Eat, Play, Sleep. Rinse repeat. All they need is cuddles, love, food and diapers. Not much 'playing' involved. And lots of naps.

I would be more worried when he is 2 and the toddler is 5.

UPDATE:

I texted BIL this morning that the adults had handled the situation, and that if he ever spoke to my wife again in that manner I would put my foot up his narrow arse. Then all hell proceeded to break loose

He started texting that if I wanted to get physical I should know that he isn’t scared of me ...uhh ok...told him I’d be there shortly.

I was on the way over to the in laws property, where the SIL and BIL’s trailer is parked...oh yea, trashy factor through the roof!....and my FIL called to inform me that BIL had already called the Police. So much for not scared

Anyway I decided that he wasn’t worth going to jail over and turned around. My wife and I are about to go drop off a deposit at a fantastic daycare thanks to some of the advice you people have given and discussions with my Parents.

What a morning!

So you want to fork out $800 a month for strangers to watch your kid when you have a free baby sitter (MIL) at your house?

Plus the pain in the arse of getting him or her ready. Rushing to the daycare to get to work on time and then fight traffic to get him or her picked up in the afternoon.

Enjoy

When anyone watches the kids in the morning we sneak out like ninjas and MIL or whomever is sitting on the couch when they arise.
