Yes, stay in Springdale maybe. But go out in Fayetteville. All the good talent is on Dickson St.

I live in NWA and all the trashiest places I think of are just over the border in Oklahoma. I can remember a barn with a large sign nailed to it proclaiming “no drinking no gambling.” Once you walk in you proceed to open your bottle of jack and bet on the chicken fights.

You don’t know trashy until you visit Oklahoma.

Just by the analytics of this thread, one name is the most mentioned...Pine Bluff to which I completely concur. There are many shitty towns in AR. But the reason that sets it apart is the Paper Mill. The smell sets is apart. West Monroens will know of what I speak.

I too know. I have spent substantial time in South Arkansas and North Louisiana the last 5 years. The smell of West Monroe isn't quite as bad as Pine Bluff, but Pine Bluff has clear water.

Followup question: Has anyone ever heard of a "trashy" city being revived and becoming good, or at least less trashy? Or is it a one way slope?

Spent a summer in Searcy five or so years ago and was impressed by the talent. It seemed way out of proportion to the surrounding towns.
