“Transsexual Satanist anarchist” wins GOP primary with campaign slogan “F**k the police”

Not quite. I think it more goes to show how little people give a shite about local elections. It looks like DiMezzo was the only R on the ballot and the usual republican candidate (who's repeatedly lost to the incumbent) didn't register in time and had to be write-in candidate.

Saying this person “won” the primary race is highly disingenuous. If I recall correctly, she ran unopposed. So saying that 4000 people voted for her is really just another way of saying that 4000 republicans filled out primary ballots, because every one of their votes for sheriff went to the only candidate on the ballot.
