Agco is good, but they don’t specialize in transmission. I’m sure they could do the work.

I had a bad pinion seal in the rear end of my truck and some metal shaving. They said I needed a new rear and wanted to replace with a used rear end.

I brought it to Zimmer gears and they repaired the seal and bearing for $1000 less than Agco wanted

Can anyone recommend a good shop in the Baton Rouge area for Transmission repair/replace on a 2011 Toyota Tundra?

Blanchard's Quality Car Care in Prairieville. They can tell you if it is a transmission issue or not. Mitch was one of the top Toyota mechanics at Price for a long time before going on his own. If it is a transmission, they should be able to get you a quote to replace with a reman, or send to a shop like Boudreaux's Transmission to fix.

He said if the same codes go back on in a year or so, just buy a code reader and clear them myself and the truck will go out of limp mode and shift properly.
My 2012 Tundra has a shift solenoid code that throws. My mechanic suggested the same. Works beautifully. Will be crossing 300k in January. I have no slippage or other symptom of an issue. Seems to be fairly common in the A760E transmissions. You can completely rebuild the tranny and it doesn't remove the issue once it starts.

The solenoids are easy to replace.

i’ve got the same year sequoia was some transmission problems especially on cold mornings. I let it warm up for 5 minutes and all good. I’m at 250K.

Yep, similar situation, just started having issues (won’t go in reverse or shift into 3rd till it warmed up) with recent cold weather. So I started letting it warm up for a good 30 minutes hoping to make it through the winter and all was fine till this morning and it threw a trans code and check engine light even after the warm up. Purchased new from the Big Toyota Dealer in BR and only serviced there but I have never been impressed with the 14 years of their service so I’m looking for somewhere else to take it.

Assuming your mechanic isn’t local to BR or you would have shared the name.

What is it doing? Toyotas are sealed transmissions. If it is a shudder at 40 mph, that can be fixed with a full flush. Have you ever had the transmission flushed?

yeah, right at 40mph. i’m going to do the flush

Holy hell, mine too

How do I do the flush????

My 2010 GX460 (200k+ miles) does the same thing with the park/shift error codes. Cleared it with scanner. Usually for cold starts, I just manual shift the first 15mins of the morning while staying under 2500rpm.. Then switch to auto for the rest of the day

A transmission flush is not something you can (or should) do yourself. For that I would suggest finding a highly regarded mechanic that specializes in Toyotas and/or transmissions.

Be careful with this. Doing a full flush on a high mileage transmission can cause issues. I think I'd try a drain + fill plus mesh filter change first.

I have an older tundra and the only problem I ever had with it was I needed to replace the idle tensioner pulley. Love that these trucks hold up for so long.

I agree. I watched a video of just the drain and fill. It’s a B$&@!. I’m not going to attempt. And the drain and fill may be all I need, just need a good place to go.

Tundras usually don’t have these issues.

Before you replace that thing you need to join the 07-21 Tundra fb group. Lots of people said they had similiar symptoms and it was a solenoid, which can be replaced for a lot less than a transmission.

That’s for 2022-24 Toyotas retard. Everyone knows post 2021 Toyotas have had significant issues.

Yes, there are several forums and Youtube videos and other resources to show you exactly how to do a flush and to do it correctly. If he hasn't done it ever and the transmission has over 65k miles, it can be done and an additive added to the fluid to stop the shudder. If it is throwing codes, then that is another issue. Tacomas are known to have the torque converter shudder at 40 mph in all the Gen 2 and Gen 3 years. It may not have it, but it is a known problem. A flush is not recommended for an extremely high mileage transmission if you are just doing mtce. and the fluid has never been changed. However, if it is shuddering, it definitely will fix it when combined with the additive Lubeguard Shudder Fix.

Shudder Fix

I woul visit Tacoma Forums and look up the Tundra page for the procedure. They give you the shop spec sheets, details to do the job, materials, tools, etc.
