Trader Joe's has it's place, but Lidl is definitely better than Aldis, a lot bigger too.

Aldi isn't bad but if you're buying produce, you better eat that shite quick.. I believe it comes to them flash frozen and it starts to go bad way faster than say, Rouses produce.

On the other hand if I was buying alot of onions, garlic, potatoes, etc for a crawfish boil in the next couple of days, Aldi can save you alot of money

I love Trader Joe's, hate Aldi.

I am the opposite. I love the fruits ,meat, eggs, bread, cheeses and wine at Aldi.... And I don't have to interact with any employees, and can park 20 feet from the front door. In and out in a flash is much appreciated.

Trader Joe has cookie butter (wtf is that??) and crappy frozen premade meals that are barely edible and a bunch of blue haired libtards working and shopping there. Unless you go early in the morning, you are likely to barely get down any aisle without bumping into some clueless democrat. If I can find a place to park, it usually is 200+ feet from the entrance. My time is more valuable than anything Trader Jo has to offer.

Never been to an Aldi.

Imagine shopping at a Chinese Bootleg store where things look and sound similar but flavor is off...

I go to TJ maybe once or twice a year.

I do Aldi’s about once a month.

Neither one will replace your real grocery store.

But Aldi has great prices and TJ has some cool unique stuff.

Ground up European cookies.
Here's one type:
quote:

Speculoos cookie butter is a sweet, spreadable paste made primarily from crushed speculoos cookies, which are spiced cookies, along with sugar and fat. It has a creamy texture and a flavor reminiscent of gingerbread, making it a popular alternative to nut butters and chocolate spreads.

That particular cookie goes well with coffee/tea.

Sprouts is my favorite grocery store. It's like a small factor and cheaper whole foods. Great produce and meat. And if you catch them on the right day (Friday here), you can get good cuts of meat for 50% off because it's their policy to not sell anything within a week of the sell by date. No big deal. If I buy a steak, I'm eating steak that night.

Different in that Aldi has more of a warehouse feel. Less items overall but I almost always find what I am looking for. Less alcohol selection and less cookies and candy and frozen dinners.
