Exactly.

OP is setting some people up here. It has a very specific social media definition.

If you delve into it, it is a very cult-like social media phenomenon for some of the participants.

If you are proud of your wife for being "trad", you might be in for a rude awakening.

Nah it is not that serious. The meme on the first page was more my angle. People here get triggered over the smallest thing.

I'll take your word for it.

But the social media "trad wife" is a marketing ploy.

Do you agree?

One rude person told me that I was a waste since I don’t ‘use’ my masters degree.

wife and I are traditional. At retirement, we realigned roles on the basis that the first 30 years she did the house work and I provided the financials, the next 30 years I would do the house work and she did the financials., Currently I have 3 years, 11 months and 18 days of house work left

Worked for us. The way God intended

If she had a career that made more than me, I’d happily stay at home and mind the children. The vacuum lines in the carpet would be perfect every day.

I'd be happy if we just elevated traditional FEMININITY the way we did thirty years ago. Men stopped doing that and started being all about IG girls and porn stars are low rent shite like that. So many women are just bad versions of shitty men these days. Feminine traits are the most attractive thing ever in a woman. Not her professional accomplishments. And if she's cracking heads in the office, how does she magically behave soft, feminine and loving at home. It's certainly not the energy I would want-that kind of ambition required to excel in a corporate environment. That's masculine energy. Men don't want that. At least not masculine men.

To my mind, the worst aspect of social media with it's millions of IG hos is simply that men dedicate more and more mental space to "idealized" women.

Whether it's traditionally feminine or just feminine in certain ways and untraditional in others, I prefer "real" women trying to be themselves above all. Usually the more unique they are; the more attractive.

To your point, having so many men drool over cookie-cutter plastic sex doll women on instagram also doesn't make it easy for many girls to feel comfortable just being themselves.

And, frankly, the kind of no-holds-barred ambition that sees anyone rise to the top in a corporate environment isn't particularly attractive in males either, in my opinion.

I'd say all my closest friends are ones who have a little too much "balance" in their lives, unique interests and creative pursuits for that rat race. My old friends who "made it to the top" -- most of those for me are in the corporate music world -- are certainly still my "friends" but, frankly, again, are more likely to come through for impossible to get tickets than quality time.

I work from home and my wife runs around doing shite constantly. Some weeks she's busier than I am between school stuff, after school activities, and all the other stuff that goes into running a home.

If a SAHM is bored, it's time for another baby.

That’s pretty much our household. Except my wife (no pics) cooks and cleans and I take care of the house and outside chores. I’ll cook once a week if she has to work late or go to the gym after work.

This pretty much describes our house as well. My income is about 2/3 of our total income. I wake up early so I handle breakfast. My wife likes to sleep in so she handles all the evening stuff (dinner, homework, etc). I get to come home from work and relax unless the kids have sports (which is often).

I completely agree with this. We are essentially devaluing every day femininity. And expecting women to all be fitness models. And we are missing the essence of what brings men and women together which is a blending of masculine and feminine traits.

Tradition............................Saw a movie called The Last Picture Show last night that defines small town , west Texas family interaction in the 1953 period. If that is the admirable family style, that was rufffff. Best part of movie was a full strip by Cyble Shepard.

Great movie overall
