Tracking down a deadbeat dad

A family member of mine has been going through a difficult ordeal in locating her ex-husband who hasn't paid a penny of child support on two kids (ages 3 & 5). They've been divorced for almost a year and its been that long since she has seen or heard anything from him. His family has somewhat cooperated with her by giving her some information on his whereabouts, but he didn't stay long in Virginia before he disappeared again. He deleted his FB account and other social media accounts. She doesn't have the money to hire a PI or a professional to track him down. She's really frustrated with the situation and doesn't seem to be getting any better. Any ideas?

Damn some of y'all have trashy family. I have plenty of N LA redneck family, but none of them are trashy as hell. I can't believe some of you live like this.

Set up a dating profile with a fake pic listing all of the things she KNOWS he likes.

I'm a PI of sorts. If ppl don't want to be found and know how to do it, it can be really tough. Best bet is to track or see if any utilities show up in his name. A few skip tracing services do this such a CLEAR

Revoked his CDL's but he was employed by a trucking company, he didn't own the rig. They're trying track him by his SSN, but he's probably working under the table for someone.

Child Support enforcement will charge her $25.00 and watch for any payroll payable to his SS#. If he works for cash, she will never collect, if he gets a job anywhere in the US they will collect support by garnishing his check. This is all dependent on her having a judgment where he is ordered to pay support. Whatever amount they collect from him, they will take 5% for collecting the debt...BTW it is a state of La govt agency....

Sounds like she cheated on him and he cut ties.

In the meantime while she's searching....
Tell her to get on a dating app and post herself and occupation as single stay at home mom. Seems that a good percentage of women think this is appealing and I'm guessing lots of dude go for it. With only teo kids and one baby daddy, she's ahead of the game, giving her pretty good odds.
Good luck though, even if she does find him....what's the game plan? Doesn't sound like there's any money in her future from him. If anything, maybe jail time, in which case, still no money.

Maybe she should be more responsible and learn how to support herself and her mistakes instead of trying to track down some dude she probably cheated on or used for a lifestyle she doesn’t want to work for.

Even if she finds him, I doubt he pays her

Might have missed out. However, you just need to keep asking questions. I found two kids dad's they never met just by following leads. This was for me to get parental consent for them joining the military. Started with the leads I had, went to police station, got more leads and followed up. It's a pain in the arse, but I got lucky. It was also for my job, so it was free time that I was getting paid.
Lss: find more leads and look. There should be someone with a general location.

The real answer?
Its time to put on her big girl panties and find her hustle.
If he ghosted her she can do all she wants but all it will do is make her bitter and her children unhappy, it's not going to suddenly make him motivated to be a responsible dad. She needs to write him off and focus on providing for her children and herself. I did it without asking for help, and she can too. just has to have the desire more than the excuse. I'm stubborn AF and no way was anyone ever going to be able to say anything about me being one of those women who have to have someone take care of them. It's his loss, but if she keeps chasing a ghost, it'll be hers too.
