Here's the sum reality of the situation: both you and your neighbor were wrong. You should not be letting a rottweiler free to roam, but your neighbor should have given you a warning first and there was no excuse to shoot your dog unless he was an actual threat. The sad truth of the matter is that many here will defend the shooter because they, themselves, crave any old reason to shoot something... especially a living creature. It was an innocent LIFE, for gods sake.

I wouldn't shoot a dog because of it's breed, but it's hilarious that I should have to avoid the stupid mutt every time I leave the house. Like I said no remorse for it's owners who clearly did not understand how to care for it

You can be my neighbor. Dogs come and go freely out here. No harm no foul. If there is an issue, a phone call or walk over to the owners house to discuss it is all that's needed. Can't see what the problem is unless the dog is threatening a kid or something.
No point in killing the dog when it's ALWAYS the owners fault regardless.

Its called controlling your animal. If these other owners loved their animals, they would keep them under their supervision. Period. Anything else is pure trash.
