Pittsburgh and word of New Orleans being incredibly shitty has certainly reached me.

Glad you like Pittsburgh, but I certainly wouldn't trade places with you.

I wonder what it is about NOLA that causes all these people who live nowhere near to post in a thread about it, continually.

Must be because it it such a common place.

I'm sorry you took offense.

Look, I understand the subjectivity involved in a word like "elite", but arguably, New Orleans is not in that category. That's doesn't mean that it's bad, etc.

You're just being incredibly parochial if you think otherwise.

Yea, that Anthony Bourdain is very 'parochial.' I'm sure he only said NOLA was his favorite culinary destination in American out of sympathy for rubes such as myself. Maybe you can give him some pointers on where the real culinary mavens such as yourself eat.

No, and it is literally impossible for you to prove otherwise. All evidence suggests you are dead wrong.

Maybe they're from them or from somewhere near there originally? Maybe they have friends and family there? Maybe because it is a well-known city and has a prominent place in the national zeitgeist?

Oh, well, who can argue against the evidence. Guess it is elite after all.

That's ok buddy. Keep spouting off with bullshite when it's clear you don't know what you are talking about.
Nola is a consensus top 4 city in this country in regards to dining. It's not up for debate according to anyone who knows about this subject.
The city is still opening new places weekly. See this attached slide show of 19 places that are coming soon. I know this might be tough to understand, but you could just take these 19 restaurants alone and they would be better than 90% of the cities in the rest of the country.

No, it's certainly not a consensus top 4.

OK. Literally no other metropolitan area has new places opening. Thanks for that.

You might as well move here man, you're already paying rent for the space it's taking up in your head.

I love when people from Louisiana move to New York and think they are the first person from here to have ever truly experienced a cosmopolitan type city.

You can also live there and know how great of a city it is too. I'm positive 80% of the people who complain never lived there. Only visited or read nola.com all day.

Me too. I also hate when people completely make things up about others in an attempt to make themselves feel better for their shortcomings. Don't you hate that too?

That makes no sense whatsoever to the point I was making, but says everything about how eaten up you are with being some sort of wanna be bigshot.

Carry on.

Omg you live in New York?! I can only dream of what it means to be such a cosmopolitan urbane gentleman such as yourself. If only I could afford an airplane ticket one day I could see the bright lights...

NOLA is too dangerous to put in the city visit rotation any longer. I'm with you.

The food is OK.
