that's damn close to the area that got hit by a tornado awhile back (maybe during the derecho event?).

Definitely seeing debris fallout after that touchdown near Laplace.

I wouldn’t want to be on the spillway right now. I hope it’s not on the ground.

Id love to know how much a school board can actually be sued for regarding injuries sustained in a weather event.
It will be whatever is agreed to in the settlements. A courtroom will probably not be involved at any point. In short, it is a money pit for the local school system.

I’m not off work brah. I’m not home dealing with kids. I genuinely do not understand why this is what we do now. I believe it undermines peoples perception of weather warnings. This makes several instances in a row for the Baton Rouge area where the actual day-of weather was nowhere near the level that would cause concern.
I won’t wish you harm, as your children are present. Instead, speaking for those being effected by this weather (tornadoes and the subsequent damage to their homes), I’d like to say:

Yeah it’s not raining in mid city. The wind has picked up though.

Were all LA state agencies closed?
I went to Wildlife and Fisheries in Baton Rouge and they were closed. Sign on door "closed due to weather".
What a pain- I drove from Metairie only to find out that my tax dollars were used to give a holiday.
