They aren’t even broadcasting the weather on any of the NOLA local channels anymore.

Hattiesburg will have another one to worry about in a bit. That's three training supercells in a row.

Storm heading towards Shubuta probably has one down.

I'm surprised the rotation headed towards Hattiesburg isn't warned.

I’ve been 10 minutes in front of both warnings issued for us. My wife was getting the kids and I told her to hurry her arse up, we were about to catch a warning. Sure enough, warning 10 minutes later. Same thing with this last one that went right over USM.

Why is it that we can see it and tell it’s something, but it takes the NWS so much longer to issue?

Are they looking for something in particular?

It’s like if the school isn’t leveled by a tornado they complain it should have been open

There’s a whole lot more liability in issuing a public warning as opposed to saying it on the Internet. With all due respect of course

They have specific parameters they look for before issuing a warning. They're saying the same thing we are, but don't have near the leeway we have.

Moreso that closing everything across such a large area is nonsensical and tiresome. Nearly everyone in the impacted areas got nothing today but some rain. All it does it encourage more eye-rolling next time all of EBR for example closes down for a non-event, again.

When did we all decide to close everything every time a strong front comes through? It’s only been the last few years that everyone started doing this.

What’s the liability in warning people? Seems like there would be more liability in NOT issuing it when Joe Blow (me) can see it
