That Clarks, LA storm is in a terrible spot, and probably has a tornado with it. Hard to tell.

ETA: It is confirmed and reported. Also has ping pong ball hail.

I know the whole concept for severity picking up tonight around say Florence was the southern flow would bring more instability to the area and storms would fire but is it incredibly dumb to think that won't happen bc the southern flow is blocked from the line of storms running from basically from Monroe, LA all the way to the northeast corner of Alabama?

Nope, not dumb at all. That's exactly what could happen. There could still be a threat, but what you described puts a bit of a damper on it.

We're starting to see the LLJ crank and storm motions turn right which allows close to stream wise vorticity. Gonna be easier to maintain updrafts and make the most of the shear.

That's the big part. You absolutely have a dangerous environment over you that hasn't really been tapped. Hopefully, nothing develops.
