Why would the NWS issue a Tornado Watch for Benton County until 4am? None of the storms to the west of us are going to come close. All I figure is the one that might clip NW Benton county shortly. It's a big one.

It’s really bad here man...Tornadoes are bad, but the Arkansas River is what’s about to mess towns and folks up.

Weber Falls is being evacuated because two barges have come loose from Port of Muskogee
And are free riding the heavy current to the dam there at Weber Falls. The barges have already hit one bridge and they expect barges to bust through damn causing catastrophic flooding to Weber Falls and then head to the I40 bridge. The same I40 bridge that collapsed in the early 2000’s and killed numerous motorists due to a barge hitting it. I-40 is also currently closed in that area.

River Spirit Casino in Tulsa is flooding and shut down. People have evacuated the River front areas of Jenks, Bixby, and Tulsa. People in Skiatook cannot leave because all roads are flooded out of town.

shite that’s rough. The ark is ridiculously high here in Wichita and that’s with a ton of flood control measures they have in place here.

Yea. It was already high and today Keystone Lake let out 215,000 cfs this afternoon to avoid dam being overrun.

James Aydelott?? @jamesaydelott · 36m I-40 is closed on Arkansas River bridge. Webbers Falls MANDATORY evacuation. Two barges loose on the Arkansas River moving toward Webbers Falls. Risk they'll hit the lock and dam, and cause it to fail. This would unleash catastrophic flooding. #WebbersFalls @FOX23
I was just about to post about this popping off all the while tornados are spawning up.
shite sounds pretty rough out that way right about now

Lot of videos coming in from around Briarbrook in CJ. Some damage but nothing awful. Hopefuflly it destroyed the golf course but no houses or people of anything. That course can suck it.

This sounds like a horror movie. Hope for not so dire results for these poor folks.

Why do you think tonight is ending up worse than Monday, when extreme dire forecasts were predicted?

Without knowing much outside of what I learned while getting my degree I’m going to go with there not being high confidence in storms popping off today. Meanwhile Monday they knew storms would pop off but the atmosphere turned out to not be quite as ripe as it is today or as they forecasted

There is currently a lot of ongoing debate as to why Monday didn't produce when the setup was in the Top 1% of observed setups. Today still didn't do much in the 1st PDS watch in SW & Cen Ok, so it might have something to do with the Mexican fire smoke that has been coming up? In the NE 600 miles of Tor Watches (the watch boxes were nearly 800 miles from SW OK into IL) storms have stayed somewhat discrete/clustered and haven't lined out into big MCS. There is still a whole lot we don't know.

It’s sad they have to write warnings that string to get people to listen

Man that’s crazy. Hopefully people are getting out and helping others who may not be able to. That can becoming a terrifying and disturbing situation very fast. Praying for everyone effected. What a crazy few days of weather.

It’s rough. This evenings weather basically just sends a dagger right through the heart of Green Country(Tulsa area). These storms were supposed to stay to the north, but the warm front stalled out over us today. Yesterday, the SPC had the threat in mid Kansas. That all started changing this morning though.

I leave on a 10 day vacation in the morning and it couldn’t come at a better time. At this rate, I hope my house is still here when I get back. Forecast for more storms and rain at end of week as well.
