Porn is such a sad and pathetic addiction and universe for everyone involved. Once you step out that mindset and realize how sick and depressing it is, it is really disgusting to even think about .
Did you just come out to us about your previous porn addiction??

Porn is the result of broken souls usually consisting of lost, trafficked and molested girls you watch get fricked by some demented fricked up soulless guy while they get filmed by a predatory pervert who then sells their shame for pennies on the dollar to marketing companies that provide you directly with free content to masturbate to alone and sad in a dark corner of your house and you excuse and justify all of that because you’re trapped in an artificially created societal state of demented arrested adolescence.
Holy shite, I think you did.
How did you break the addiction? Do you still watch it from time to time?

I don't personally use porn anymore, but its' not harmful to the vast majority of users There's nothing good about lots of things humans require, like alcohol (which I also barely partake in anymore) or smoking.
Porn affects the brain the exact same way alcohol or heroin does. Porn is extremely dangerous. If and when you look at it, you are trying to escape something. Much like with another substance. You can remove alcohol and drugs from someone and they can get sober with help. It’s much harder to get sober from porn addiction. Euphoric recall, fantasy, and the fact that it’s absolutely everywhere is very real and why it’s harder to quit.
Porn IS a problem!!!

Lol. Our entire culture has a porn addiction.

No.

Almost everything is/can be a problem.
The question is how society conceptualizes and responds.
Sex work and alcohol are 2 foundational aspects of humans in our society stage of development. Both are problems with negative outcomes sometimes.
Of the 2 today, alcohol is clearly worse and much more legal across the board.

Sounds a lot like sports gambling.

Porn and gambling are similar in that it’s fine when it takes some amount of effort to access on occasion, but 24/7 availability on your phone is ruining people.

Why use tor over a vpn. Mulvad will do the trick just fine.

This is part of my comment earlier about how society conceptualizes the vice.
Gambling is somewhat new and I think things will even out in time. A generation or 2 should work this out. We're literally at the dawn of a new era of humans on earth with gambling in how it's become legal and socially acceptable and we'll have to do some trial/error to sort it out as humans do.
One of the issues with porn is America's prudishness with sex and how that affects overall sexual education of young people. Until we get over that and develop to teach more about sex, there will be lots of issues. With the cultural shifts ongoing, I don't see that happening, so porn will continue to be a problem with young people accordingly.

Scrolling on IG or other social media 24/7 ruins little girls even when porn isn't involved. What now? Are we about the specific vice, or what it "does" to people?

It ruins everyone. And is the same issue on our brains.
This porn stuff is just the cultural (over) reaction to people who have been brainwashed to think our society has devolved into danger and degeneracy.

Except the outcomes are different.
With gambling you rarely 'Win'.
With porn, you always 'Win'.
The degenerate progression is about the same though.

This actually makes the dopamine hits from gambling stronger, I believe.
That's why constant sexual gratification (with porn or otherwise) leads to desensitization and seeking out different stimuli.
The fact that you don't always win in gambling makes the dopamine hit when you do so much stronger. That's why gambling is the worst.
There are a few psychological terms involved, but the near miss effect is the one that really drives the addiction.

You are spot on with this, and I think the largest issue with porn are the women and lesser extent men being taken advantage of. You cannot sugar coat it, these "actors" are people not from a good place and being used until they are broken and tossed away. For every porn success story (there are some), there are probably 10,000 failures that end in depression, neglect and even suicide.
The interesting question is, does AI change all this. Will AI generated porn change the view of it. When removing the worse aspect of it, does it become more digestible to the masses? Is that a good thing to begin with? Religion will preach against it, as they should, but greater society?
