High school after homecoming dinner at a restaurant in Lafayette called Toby’s Oak Grove. My dress had long sleeves that were really wide, but narrowed at the elasticized wrist. I decided I needed mementos from the date, and walked out with two wine glasses and a set of flatware in my sleeves. The elastic kept anything from falling out. I don’t think anyone at the table noticed.

Brought back weed from a trip to Vegas. Signs all over the airport saying this is federal property and weed is not allowed in the airport. Throw it away or they will arrest you if you don't. I say frick it and put it in my carryon. When my bag is going through security, it gets pulled. I'm thinking, 'frick'. So I man up and walk over ready to accept my fate. TSA guy reaches in and pulls out a can of spray on sun screen. I smile and apologize for being so thoughtless as throws it away. After I get through security and am waiting for my flight, a police officer and his drug dog walk by. The dog sits down right next to my bag. I give the officer a nod and he pulls his dog and keeps on walking. All this for $10 worth of edibles.

I won’t post a pic of me in the dress, but here is the pattern. Second from the left. Most girls wore homemade dresses back in the day. My mom couldn’t sew, but my older sister could.

I love that drop waist!!! I was going to ask you if it had a funnel neck because I could totally picture it with the sleeves you described. I'm thrilled to finally have room to get my sewing machine out and start playing around with it. After I make my FDB Bacon submission, that is.
