I've been there. I hope you're going to her place. That way you can get in, do the damn thing, and get out. You don't need to hang around because she will try to talk you out of it. Nah...he left out a lot of things in the original post. He needs to break up with her. She's got some problems to work out. However, his timing is stinky. He's known he needed to get out for quite some time, but waited to do it on the day they need to give 30 day notice to the landlord on their lease. Claims the lease would have been longer if he'd done it earlier. I can't figure that one out.
I do hope it goes well for him and that he reports back.

That's only if you believe this incredibly one sided story, which drastically changed half way through the thread after people started blaming him for being the dickhead.
