Word. The trucking company our freight line hires is always late but I'll give them credit, when I'm in a jam, they save the day

One thing I would not do is start a thread that includes specifics about my career and position on a very popular regional message board.

If you are who I think you may be, you already have our business
I work with two brokers, one is reliable and steady, the other gets a hot item on the move like you wouldn't believe. I'm pretty good with brokers right now

holy hell what a great job, I'd do that in a heartbeat. The biggest reason I personally hate officially documenting employees is because you see them everyday. You know them, you've spent time wiht them, probably know things about their personal life.
If you're flying in somewhere to fire a literal stranger that you've never met and then leave..WGAS?

I am about to be an a-hole on a call this afternoon. It takes a lot for me to get there, so there is no guilt on my end. The guilt is on them for doing whatever it was to get to this point. The few times I've been an a-hole when it wasn't warranted, I've come back and apologized and restated my point in a much more collaborative approach.
I feel like people who are assholes for no reason don't have that guilty conscience factor.

Every job requires being an a-hole at times. Breaking news or lighting a fire under someone. I keep it as business. If someone can't understand that it's not my personal decision that's their problem. Have to do what's best for business.

I try to workout, and I rationalize it as much as possible. No matter what, if you're personality type is you feel guilty sometimes, you'll always have that twinge. I've got the "how do I explain this to my wife and kids" multiple times, and it's just brutal when someone breaks.

Did he use the Norm Peterson method from Cheers?

The guilt trip is the worst. Generally just put your energy into something you enjoy. Simply taking a longer drive home and cranking the radio can help a ton sometimes.

Ironically, I've never fired anyone.

I am naturally an a-hole so I am not really bothered by it.

If you think you have it bad, imagine having to kill every one of your clients. It's unpleasant work, but after a few centuries you stop feeling guilty

I haven't had to, but I've been present for them. I have had tough conversations with clients that throw every negative aspect about their life at you. It sucks some days.

It's my job so no emotions, or guilt, attached to it.

Who do you think I work for?
Posted on 11/13/15 at 12:07 pm to DelU249
Would not work that type of job
