Lost a whole day because you drank too much bourbon. Not because of bourbon.

He didn’t say it was because of bourbon. He said it was because “I wanted some bourbon.” So he put the agency on him, not the bourbon.

But goddamn I had shite to do today that I can’t get done. I feel all over the place emotionally. I feel my temper going quicker than normal. Melancholy setting in.

I've had a different vice, but this resonates with me too. Quicker to be angry, emotions ping ponging all over the place, feels like the vice took over my mind when I was "using." The sadness of knowing you're screwing up, but feeling powerless to stop yourself from self-destructing.

It wasn't with alcohol, but I've been there. And so have many others. You're not alone.

I’d imagine that if George Washington could see the internet in heaven he’d be more disappointed in these so called “men” that do this new “sober” fad than everything the democrats come up with

I have coworkers that quit drinking and now have a holier than thou attitude now. To each their own.

Hangovers 30+ are different than they used to be though.

I started feeling the same way around that same age, ~26-27. For me, it got a whole lot worse before anything got better. After trying seemingly everything else, at 32 I rolled the dice and moved across the country for a fresh start and new scenery. Haven't had a drop in nearly two years now, neither has my wife, and its the best thing we've ever done. Brought home our first kid last year, life has never been better.

I watch this guy John Deloney from time to time and he discusses this. It might help.

Dang it. I wasn’t going to drink tonight because I seldom do during the week, but now I want a drink after reading this thread.

few things are less interesting to hear about

If you’re going to talk about that stuff, at least tell stories about sucking dick for crack, time in prison or on the street, etc

Quit at 38 to get in better shape. At 63 now and can say it was absolutely the best decision of my entire life. You do you.
