I was a horrible drinker. Blackout drunk, angry, and just a totally different person. I quit to save my family and stayed sober until covid, thinking hey I can handle this....

I couldn't it happened again. I will never drink again. At first it may suck when everyone else is doing it. Crawfish boils, tailgates, festivals, etc...

You will learn over time that feeling great the next day, and helping the people you care about far outweigh the feeling of neglect. You are not neglecting anything; you're helping yourself and others around you that you really care about.

Drink, don't drink, be a vegan who worships trees and the moon. I give no fricks right up until that person starts lecturing me, talking about their choices incessantly or tries to prove they are superior to me because of whatever choice they made. In that case, those folks can suck it.

This whole not drinking thing is the next big psyop

Your ancestors drank all day and still managed to fight the Romans and now they’re disappointed in you

It's always people who don't know when to stop say that they're done forever. Dude just know when to quit and go to bed.

Oh gotcha. That makes sense.

I haven’t been able to read all the responses in your thread.

I do wish you the best though.

Ya see. This is what I dislike. Calling someone out for trying to do the right thing for themselves. Some just end up not being able to handle whatever they drink to the point of it causing problems. I finally did. I’m lucky it wasn’t too late for my health and my families well being. Anyone that cuts down someone for that is a total dipshit.

It’s just the hangover talking. You’ll be fine and knocking a few down by Saturday night.

Maybe it makes me an alcoholic or whatever but I usually never drink on weeknights for that reason. Lower energy and lost productivity-just not worth it.

I don’t get people who just casually drink enough to get hungover on a weeknight at home (the occasional dinner or happy hour, I get)

I drink a glass or 2 of cheap whiskey almost every night on front porch with the wife. Weekends I drink beer when I’m done doing important stuff.
