Well, I would not be on this site seeking advice.

It's tough, man. Sorry to hear that. I think it will make you feel better if you post her pics.

I had a bad drinking episode around Easter that weighed heavily upon her.

Just one episode? Or is it an ongoing thing? Many people have a bad time drinking at one time or another. Odd that just 1 episode would stick with her so long.

Why are you so quick to blame yourself? Some things just don't work out for a variety of reasons, but that's not to say only you are to blame.

Perhaps you can talk things out and acknowledge were you f'ed up and maybe that would be helpful to calm things down for a bit while you both regroup.

We’ve been faithful to each other.

Hope that is the case brother. Wishing you guys an amicable solution here.

Ive been through a few. None of my own but my parents got divorced and then my mom and dad both got divorced in their second marriages.

That's enough divorce in my family to last a lifetime.

It was time to break the generational curse and the wife and I make 20 years this year.

It's hard to handle a divorce, even from a toxic marriage, but it may be an old cliche, but time heals.

Do Mediation and hire a lawyer to do the filing and paperwork. Is that what you’re looking for?

What was your drinking episode that pushed her over the edge? Did you acknowledge your mistake and make changes to prevent it again? Sometimes what makes the big difference is acknowledgment and change.

I’m waiting to see a psychiatrist. Counseling for us is on the horizon.

Now...back to the point.

Counseling would be the absolute best suggestion I could give. Not sure how your are with your faith, whether or not you belong to a church or even believe in God but if he exists in your life now would be a good time to start talking to him. Asking him questions. Leaning on him and others who believe in him.

A few, lol. They get easier but never less expensive. Enjoy your freedom until you make another stupid mistake.

i'm anything but an expert but based on your posts the last few weeks, seems like you might need to check in to an in-patient facility of some kind

That’s the one she mentioned. It hasn’t happened since then. The time prior to that would be NYE.

Tighten up.
