The most extreme weather in the country is Oklahoma and the Texas panhandle. There’s a county in Idaho that has frost an avg of 290 days a year. The Dakotas are hard on inhabitants. Half of Washington is a desert. Make better lists.

I’ve lived in North Dakota and Houston Texas. Yes, these regions are harsher in particular months, but Middle TN is bad enough to be uncomfortable.
Definitely uncomfortable at times in the summer and winter, but nothing compared to Michigan (for the winter) and Louisiana/Florida (for the summer).

This was true 70 years ago, but that archaic belief became an old wives tale, which old people post on facebook.

Southern states should never be considered in the top 30 of worst weather states if you hate the cold.

It's just a different cold.
below zero isn't bad when it's dry and no wind.
Then once you experience below zero, below 32 is shorts weather, but typically when it gets that warm it's a wet cold, which is awful.

What are the best states or regions for weather besides the California coast? I prefer warmer weather to cold weather but prefer moderate weather, like most people.
I’ve lived in Louisiana, Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, Southern California, and Connecticut. Also DC but just for the summer.
LA and TX (Houston) are very similar. Missouri might be the worst of that bunch because they have slightly better summers and much worse winters. NC and CT were the best imo, besides Southern CA which is world renowned for weather but is very expensive.
DC was perfectly fine in June and July. I’ve also been up there in the winter during snowstorms which can be a pain but not as bad as the Midwest.

Well one thing is quite obvious. Whoever put together this shitty list has never been to North Dakota in the winter or Louisiana in the summer.

Texas panhandle is a place where you can go from not a single cloud in the sky to a severe thunderstorm warning in less than 15 minutes

Dude. Middle Tennessee has amazing weather. Has heat and if you get into a little of the foothills you have a long spring and fall and a mild winter. You literally have 4 seasons with the best 2 lasting about 8 months.

I'd trade Louisiana weather for most of those.
It’s almost swamp arse season for Louisiana.

I'd imagine living in Boston or Chicago sucks worse if you don't like shoveling snow 8 months a year.
Cant speak for chicago but you maybe have to shovel 3-4 times over a two month period in Boston.
Dumb take.

You should try again but with cities. Many states are large enough to have varying climates. Parts of Cali are awesome 24/7. Other parts are hell on earth.

Yep. That’s probably one of the dumbest takes you hear about living in the north.
As if it snows every day the entire winter.
And shoveling snow isn’t even that hard.

Came to say: 3 pages and no mention of Oklahoma?? Thank you.
I promise you, Oklahoma is in the top 3 worst weather.

That’s the problem. People are imagining the weather while never stepping foot there.

I didn’t want to say anything bc I never lived there. But most of the times I visit for work, there is some weather advisory on the news in OK. Never realized how much wind can ruin a pretty day.

And let’s just ignore the fact that the weather is perfect in the summer and the falls are incredible.
