I lost a glock 27 somewhat similar to that in a boating accident as well.
I may purchase one of those for target shooting along the banks of the Tombigbee. Pray I don’t lose it too, although it’s likely.

You can replace the DVR. You need to make sure that it is compatible with your cameras. Tigersec has a good product and is sold on Amazon.

I have 5 cameras around the perimeter of the side and front of my house as well as 2 RING Doorbells
I also have bright motion lights as well as a security light that I had Entergy install on the light pole that shines on the driveway.
On top of that I have signs in English and Spanish that say the property is under surveillance...not sure if it helps but it gives me some piece of mind

Heres a story: cpl yrs ago I had a MacBook Pro work laptop stolen out my truck. Not forceable entry. I had faith in humanity and my neighborhood. After that I put cams up. Well Im inside, woman outside beneath carport and the mooncrickets are moving. My truck parked directly in front of her car in driveway. THey come specifically to my truck. Not hers. Truck was locked. Mind you its 9pm and lights on under carport. They didnt see her sitting there. She asked if she could help them. Startled they ran away and she came in house and told me they tried to get into my truck. I got on the TV to playback the video. I said screw it. THeyre on foot. once they turned the block theyre walking. Sure enough. I jumped in the car and turnbed the block and saw em walking. 2 teens. I threatened them if they ever came back. Well an hr later a car pulls into my driveway and sitting there. I walked outside and looked at them. They left and I posted the vid to FB. THe neighbors passed it around. No more issues...

Dvr systems suck. Too many moving parts. Get some type of ring or nest camera.
