We were teenagers and were out of school for a week. Like dumbasses we started a neighborhood BB gun war and would bundle up and shoot each other all day. Until one guy got hit right under his eye and blood started pouring out.

You honestly think that volcano had something to do with it?
Surprised the NYT didn't blame it on some factories.

Wife and I took a cruise out of New Orleans then. Ship couldn’t enter the mouth of the Mississippi and had to sit in the gulf overnight. Delayed our departure. Finally left and most passengers and more than half the crew got seasick. I managed to hold it in.

I thought volcanoes lowered the temps over the next few years
They do. But first the atmosphere is heated up, which in turn creates the clouds, which in terms cools off the planet.

We were working in the bottom floor of my boss’ condo on the lakefront, with a view of the marina out the back. 1st job out of college.
We had to retie his boat twice that day because of winds.
We watched ducks coming from the lake side top the tree line and get blown back, tumbling back over the lake.
Later in the day we were playing volleyball at Coconut Beach when the wind shifted hard and things got cold. Had to go back and retie the boat.

I did the hike up the mount pinatabu. Pretty brutal after a night of debauchery in manila. The lake up there was so beautiful.

Very underrated movie. Seen it 100 times.

We got a lot of ice. I mainly remember the tops of the pine trees snapping. Sounded like cannon fire. We lost power, but had a fireplace and a gas stove and a couple of hurricane lanterns.

Remember it well because i was in the Air Force in AK and they evacuated the AF base in the phillipines with many transplants ending up at Elmendorf. Dont think they ever reopened the base in the Philippines.

I remember our power being out and my grandmother being with us because we burned wood for heat then. We had electric heat, too, but the main source was the wood heater. My grandmother cooked breakfast on that thing every morning.
The road we lived on was basically ice after that first day, and the drifts were pretty good. We had an old sled kicking around for some reason or another and Pops was able to get us up on the hill in the road in front of the house for a few rounds. A couple days in he and I braved the roads and made the couple mile track to my aunt's house to bring them some things.

I remember it. I was 10. We fared fine in SCP. But it was bitterly cold. I remember we went ride 4 wheelers and it was the first time I heard plants crunch under wheels.
