Bury your head in the sand and ignore that different cultures exist. Sounds like a wonderful lady.

Pretty sure it says My Son not Mayson. But her kid probably does have some trash name like Jayden.

I enjoyed that she also wasn't a fan of the QR code.

I learned about Islam when learning about the Middle East. I also taught a World History course and taught about Islam. You also teach about Hinduism and Buddhism around the same time. It's part of the curriculum and for good reason.

No one's making kids read the Quran but to ignore it would be stupid.

Ahh, the link you posted had excerpts from the Qur'an as if they were part of the textbooks. Honestly, this is the first I have read of this so all I have is the info you posted.

We shouldn't use any religious text in schools, no matter what the population.

If the book spells out how combining religion and government are really bad ideas then I completely support it.

I'm still trying to figure out why she underlined the word "will" so many times. Seems "not" was the emphasis she was going for.

I don't think that was so much "teaching the Quran" as much as it was using an excerpt from the Quran to highlight a core belief of Islam.

Personal opinion. Religion seems like a major cause for pain in this world.

Christianity may have matured to an acceptable level, but there was some carnage getting there.

i know i was in gifted but what kind of bullshite high school educations did people get if they didn't learn about major cultures/religions of the world? that is the basis of classes like world geography and integral to any sort of meta historical analysis

it's also a major cause of a lot of other shite in this world, and even if it only caused pain, that makes it historically and culturally significant. you seriously cannot discuss or learn about history or geography without some discussion about religions

I went to a private Christian high school and we had a year long class solely about other religions.
