Wow...if only Catholics would read the bible, they wouldn't remain in that system long. There are so many Catholic teachings/beliefs that contradict scripture such as a works salvation rather than through faith in Christ ALONE, worship/deification of Mary when Mary's only command was, "Whatever He(Christ) says do it", invention of purgatory to keep relatives paying clergy to pray their loved ones out of that place that doesn't exist according to the bible, going to a priest for forgiveness of sins when we can go directly to Christ, and on, and on, and on.....

American Catholics should split from the Roman Church. Keep all the beliefs, dogma, doctrine, mythos, Church teachings, etc but lose the Pope and international hierarchy as it is. Kind of like Church of England but not sell out like they did. Keep most tradition- hell, maybe even require Latin Mass. Possibly allow priests to marry but go balls to the wall legal and ecclesiastical consequences on any molesting piece of shite.
BTW, the Church is not the hierarchy or institution. The Church is the people that make it up, the overwhelming majority of whom are good people (Incidentally, that includes the majority of those taking Holy Orders)
Also, thank God for the Holy League in 1571.
