This is how I prefer to enjoy the GoM.
But to each their own. I'll still go to the beach, I just prefer other vacations.

I'm not a beach person but my wife and her family are. I end up enjoying the time together. We of course can manage other trips throughout the year. A beach trip for some families can be relatively inexpensive so I can't hate on that.
I agree if that was my vacation every year, like a cruise or Disney, that would suck.

Absolutely. I'll take my family to the beach too - the kids love it - but I prefer to be elsewhere. Not shitting on it, just not for me.

Because I’ve never even been to Massachusetts?

They were complaining during 4th of July and about traffic around Seaside and Rosemary, not some obscure stretch of beach on a dead week because you were too cheap to pony up money to pay premium prices during a holiday week.

We were in Gulf Shoes in April. Sat on the beach for two hours the Sunday we left. Not a soul around and one of the most relaxing times I’ve ever had. Just listened to the crashing waves and enjoyed the scenery.

Agree.. I don't know how people can just sit in a chair on a beach and do nothing... I would be bored to death very quickly. I'd rather go somewhere different to a place I've never been and see a different place/culture
Let me guess, you’re the guy who sets an alarm on vacation and tries to cram in as many activities as possible so you can ‘get your money’s worth.’
My money’s worth on vacation is doing jack shite on the beach, or wherever i am, for as long as possible.. then, if i’m feeling adventurous, i might take some time to explore.. but only if i’ve been sufficiently lazy first.

Let me guess, you weigh about 260 and sit at the beach under and LSU tent, despite attending McNeese if anywhere at all, drinking Michelob Ultras

not liking the beach is 100% contrarian

I’ve always been confused by dudes who spend 6 grand for a week in Destin and then never enter the water

Me too because I could go to Europe for way less.

Was there (Seagrove) recently. It varies. Where we were it was only limited number of houses and private beach access, but about 200 yards down the beach was one of the public access points and was legit crowded. Not ridiculous but with groups and chairs and canopies within 5-10 feet of each other.
Never seen a beach crowded in Seagrove - only moderately so in Seaside.

I would rather go to the beach than Europe. My kids would be miserable in Europe.
