Are claiming to be a vet and simultaneously saying a medical services officer is unimportant while saying he is so important a brigadier commander wouldnt risk him jumping? Help me out here.
Still waiting for his epic service rack so I can learn how I am supposed to organize mine.

Just sent that to my buddy who was 10th special forces group, 3rd battalion (Green Beret/HALO). He got a good laugh out of it.

Here is a video of a jumper with (I believe) their static line misrouted under their pack tray. They became a towed jumper (not good).
So who is supposed to check for that? I guess it ultimately falls on the guy jumping but is the Jump Master responsible for visually inspecting each line before a jump. Or is each person supposed to look a the line of the guy in front of them?

Nice. Hoping to be around when my son gets his Air Medal with a V. It’s awarded for his work in June but he can’t seem to stay stateside long enough for the actual ceremony. I’m 50/50 on whether I will be allowed to attend. The printed citation has about 8 words not redacted.

quote:Jumpers check each other during actions in the aircraft. Safety passes through to make a final check. However, in most instances it is poor static line control (too much comes off the pack tray while you are waiting to jump) or poor/weak exit (allowing the static line to misroute). Once the jump begins and jumpers are exiting the jumpmaster has little they can do.
So who is supposed to check for that?
ETA: An example where there is too much slack on the static line (jumper is using a reverse byte grip for a ramp jump). That slack can (under many circumstances) route under an arm or tangle/foul in equipment and cause a hung jumper, particularly if you have a weak/poor exit.

My older brother jumped out of these (c-119) in the early 60s. Said he saw a guy hit that rear tail once. It was very ugly.
This was his unit

Once a paratrooper, always a paratrooper! May not be active but there will never be a “WAS” in this capacity. Once a badass, always a badass!

Thanks brother. My proudest moment in nearly forty years as a Soldier was having Major General David Morris, the commanding general of US Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne), pin on my master parachutist badge. I earned a lot of badges and awards along the way in my career, but that was the most rewarding one to me.
