Based on logic, the submersible made it intact to the bottom of the ocean floor. Hear me out.
Lost comm 1.5 hours into the dive. That puts it at a certain depth. The search area using the depth when comm was lost was estimated to be the size of Connecticut (what I heard).
If that submersible imploded when they lost comm, there is no way there would be a debris field near titanic. Debris would be spread out close to the size of Connecticut.
That submersible imploded on the ocean floor. That's why there's an debris field
WHOI seems to disagree.
quote:
Experts say the debris found of the Titan sub was found more than 200m from the bow of the wreck.
Carl Hartsville of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution told reporters that it was found in an area where there is "no debris" of Titanic.
He described it as an area with a "smooth bottom" adding that it was "two hundred metres plus from the bow" of Titanic.
He adds: "It's consistent with the location of last communication for an implosion in the water column.
"The size of the debris field is consistent with that implosion in the water column."

Dude conned people into dropping $250,000 each to ride in a death tube with a Tractor Supply shitter in it to one of the most dangerous places on earth. It's not hard to imagine how he could swindle some VC and PE bros.

Gotta love some of these media questions even though they said the sub catastrophically imploded.
"What are the prospects of recovering the bodies?"
"Is there any suggestion it collided with the wreckage of the Titanic?"
I know you're not lying but I want you to be lying. No words....

The skeptic in me says the US Navy knew this vessel was lost on Sunday
The USN probably knew almost immediately that the sub had popped after it went. I dont think much happens in the north Atlantic that they don't know about.
I mean to be fair, publicly available information made it clear that it had imploded right after it happened.

Just got a blurb saying it was an implosion.

also, no way to prove they were on it
one also troubling aspect is the Renata Rojas side story
Monday morning early her friends were social messaging she was on the craft, and were freaking out.
those accounts are now gone, or locked and she has not responded on social media since sunday early
She is a movie maker, and apparently an ocean gate employee
rojas twitter
I am wondering if the "manifest was wrong"
hell, the was this guy operated, probably was a post it note on the computer monitor

Many low-IQ conspiracy theorists are making the same mistake, don't worry. Renata Rojas was aboard the ship, not the sub. One of her friends, a documentary filmmaker named Jill Heinerth, cleared this up on Rojas's own Facebook page days ago.
Now, she very well may have been planning to be on one of the later trips on the sub this week, but I'm guessing her plans have since changed.

Damn it is hard to believe they were not inspecting that thing after every dive. When it imploded would there have been any sign of that at the surface?
I went on ocean gate LinkedIn. They do inspect the vessel and prepare it for the expedition. Must have been underestimated

And a Playstation controller to operate the vessel. Everything about this screamed non-compliant.

Didn’t they previously cut WiFi when the sub had trouble to keep it from getting out? My guess is that happened again so that’s why nobody heard from her.

The skeptic in me says the US Navy knew this vessel was lost on Sunday. The SOSOS NET would have certainly heard the acoustic anomoly produced by the implosion, add to the fact that the new ROV used went directly to the area of the debris field.
100%. But they didn’t want to say anything until they either found the debris or after the Thursday oxygen window closed.
However, while the “oxygen window” was technically open they didn’t want to be seen “wasting” resources searching for debris, they had to be searching where it would be if it didn’t implode.
It all makes sense logically looking back now. The search for the “banging” and potentially recovery was just a half hearted attempt to not look heartless until it was 100% certain

she was the first alternate for this trip,
Why has she not responded? the ship has starlink, cell phones work
someone shot a ticktock of the deck

Surface inspections would not show any fatigue on a microstructure level. And since pressure is an isotropic force, a small failure on the crystalline level could lead to a collapse of the entire vessel. They were dealing in excess of 5500 psi of external pressure. Every expedition meant cycling the material from atmospheric pressure to 5500 psi, which meant continual fatigue of the materials and joints.

that, is a reasonable arguement
comms shut down, would buy that

That was posted as the sub was starting the journey down. I’m pretty sure outside communication was cut after they realized there was trouble.
I wish I could remember who said it happened when they were on the ship previously, but I can’t. Maybe the reporter guy?

Here is a youtube video of an Atmospheric implosion of a tanker under just 14.7 psi of external pressure. Imagine what happened at 5500+ psi...
